Futerra – Live Brief Winners 2015
With the disaster of Rana Plaza taking over 1000 lives, how can we raise awareness to consumers to make responsible choices when buying their clothes?
How can we pressure the fast fashion brands to be more ethical, sustainable and transparent with their supply chains?
Fashion Revolution is a campaign initiated by Futerra, a leading agency that works with big brands marketing and sustainability communications.
The burning question:
“THINK ABOUT HOW DESIGN CAN BE A VEHICLE FOR ADDRESSING THE SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN FASHION SUPPLY CHAINS”
Build an award winning team –

Rebeca Torres – MA Sustainable Design (Mexico)
Ahsan Khan – MA Sustainable Design (UK)
We used service design methods to map issues and challenges, with personas we gained insight into consumers behaviours and attitudes.
Our multidisciplinary team of 3 designer, from fashion, industrial and communication, created a user experience to raise awareness to encourage consumers to become active in a stance against human rights, fair wages and better rights for the makers. We dug deep to understand the language used in the fashion industry, then turned this on its head. Posters explaining the challenges in the fashion industry were designed, we used a simple infographic system to help communicate complex issues in simple techniques. Patches were also designed, for users to choose a patch and take part in our workshop, while sewing was going on, this opportunity was also used to promote conversation about pressing issues in the fashion world.
